Powered by the Sun

Believing in the power of a greener economy, we revolutionised our Johannesburg-based Head Office into a solar-powered, energy-efficient building.

We were the first company in Gauteng to undertake a solar project of this magnitude and are one of the top 10 solar powered companies in South Africa.

How does it work?

The Photovoltaic System (PV) converts sunlight directly into energy, not through the sun’s heat like solar thermal systems do, but rather by converting energy from the sun into an electric charge. Therefore power produced by PV system is directly proportional to the intensity of sunlight striking the solar panel.

A grid-tie inverter converts the Direct Current (DC) electricity produced by the system into alternating current (AC) electricity which is the standard unit of electricity used by household appliances.

Quick Facts!

Wind Turbine

We have installed a 1 Kilowatt Wind Turbine. This high performance, three blade turbine delivers up to 1000 kWh of power. A unique grid-tie inverter is used to synchronize the varying voltage to a stable grid supply.
